Wrong Ideas About Internet Business

I wonder how many others have wrong ideas about Internet business, eCommerce, like I did before I started.

My idea of eCommerce was department store web pages like Wal-Mart.com or Amazon where they list something like 100,000 items, or some lonely web page where someone is trying to sell a few different products. The Wal-Mart web site I know does a huge volume, in fact I have been told that Wal-Mart sells more on their web site then their largest most successful Wal-Mart Super Store.

I had the idea that web sites that sell just a few similar items were all about the same. I view them as road side stands, that sell yard produce or items that were built in a back yard garage. Yea, it is a business, but you can not really make a living doing it.

I know some people who sell and auction a “few” things on eBay and make a little money in the process. But I did not consider that a business, just like I would not consider selling a few things in a Yard Sale a business.

Anyone who has spent any time on the Internet knows about pop-ups, banners, and many other kinds of ads. I was aware of them as well, but I had not a clue of their market value or if they were at all effective. In fact, I had no idea of the whole business of sharing commissions through what is called affiliates or joint venture, or Pay-Per-Click (PPC) or a list of other means of sharing the profits.

I had no idea of the incredible scale and scope that the Internet business world has become. I did not know that some of those Internet road side stands have tens of thousands of dollars in sales weekly. I did not know someone could participate in a well planed Internet marketing system, without personally owning any products, and have the money roll in daily. And the most amazing thing that I did not know, and have learned, is that this is something you and I can learn to do. And WOW! am I ever excited about it.

Here is just a surface scratch list of ways money is made in the exciting world we are getting into. I have included a few, out of many, web address that you may find useful and interesting.
